I grew up in a small town in South Carolina, where I loved to pull out my parents’ boxes of photos, spread the pictures out on the bed, and experience the stories captured inside.
Now I live in New York City. After spending some time as a lawyer, I decided to study photography at the International Center for Photography here in New York. As a professional photographer, my focus is on weddings, portraits, and boudoir. My photos have won awards and been featured in art shows in New York, but, most importantly, they are cherished by families in living rooms across the country.
Photographing the important moments in people’s lives is an honor I do not take lightly. After the parties are over and the babies are grown, it is the photos that endure. It is the treasured photo albums that we show our children and pass down through generations. It is the pieces of art that we enjoy on our walls every day. It is the time-worn wallet photo we carry with us wherever we go. However we use them and display them, photos are powerful.
